@huntriz1 Although the broadway show is fantastic, you must keep in mind that the book came first, and the broadway show is an adaptation of the book that makes the story more applicable for the broadway audience. Also, this movie came out in 1925, WAAAAY before the broadway performance was introduced. This movie depicts the original story line as Gaston Leroux wrote it.

Well, I was not impressed by the movie version of Phantom of the Opera. Great acting however It did not capture the broad way performance which brings tears to ones eyes.
